The Division of Rheumatology, Department of Medicine at the University of Washington, School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time faculty member at the Associate or full Professor level (without tenure due to funding), to serve as Clinical Director of the Division, overseeing clinical practice across all sites: Harborview Medical Center, University of Washington Medical Center, VA of Puget Sound, and Northwest Hospital. Duties of the position will include experienced and effective leadership with a strong commitment to clinical operation efficiency, focusing on faculty productivity, access to care, and patient and physician satisfaction. This position will work with the division head, division administrator, section heads, key clinical faculty, division revenue cycle manager, and clinic managers to achieve these goals. Additionally, this position will have clinical and educational responsibilities across multiple sites. They will actively participate in weekly didactics meetings, serve as attending for residents/fellows in clinic and during inpatient rounds at two sites throughout the year. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. Associate and full professors (WOT) hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. This position has an anticipated start date of October 1, 2024.
The base salary range for this position will be: $19,167 - $22,220 per month ($230,004- $266,640 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice planmay provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Some of the specific responsibilities of this position would include the following:
·Leading section head meetings for the four rheumatology clinic sites (Harborview, UWMC-Roosevelt, Northwest, and VA);
·Mentoring early career physicians;
·Supporting recruitment of physicians and support personnel for clinic sites;
·Coordination of clinical programs including inpatient and clinic schedules;
·Supporting the division administrator in monitoring wRVUs for physicians and addressing situations where physicians aren’t meeting targets;
·Working alongside division leadership to balance clinical needs and scholarship/research needs for physician scientists in the division;
·Work with division leadership on decision making regarding changes to clinical programs.
