Annual salary: $85,000 annually (DOE) plus 10% bonus potential
What you will do
As the Food Service Director at a senior living community, you will be at the helm of creating a culinary experience that goes beyond mere meals; it becomes an integral part of our residents' overall well-being. Your role is pivotal in fostering a dining atmosphere of casual sophistication that not only delights the palate but also promotes a sense of community, health, and satisfaction.

- Elevate the overall dining experience by implementing creative and engaging dining programs.
- Collaborate with residents to incorporate their feedback and preferences.
- Craft fresh, nutritious menus tailored to the preferences of our residents.
- Incorporate fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients into daily offerings.
- Lead, inspire, and mentor the culinary team to deliver excellence in food preparation, presentation, and service.
- Foster a positive and collaborative kitchen culture.
- Oversee kitchen operations and front-of-house dining, ensuring efficiency, cleanliness, and adherence to health and safety standards.
- Implement cost-effective measures without compromising on quality.
- Actively engage with residents to understand their culinary expectations and preferences.
- Organize culinary events, workshops, and tastings to foster a sense of community around food; create "wow" events for residents and guests.
- Foster a dining environment that becomes a focal point for socialization, community engagement, and shared experiences.
What you will need
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Business Administration, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in food service management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve performance goals and exceed customer expectations.
- Proven track record of success in managing budgets, financial analysis, and cost control measures to achieve profitability targets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members at all levels of the organization.
- Successful candidates must meet eligibility criteria, including the ability to undergo and successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screen in accordance with applicable State laws and regulations.
