Job Description
Virtual Enterprise Architects, LLC is looking for a Data Architect to serve our client in Washington, DC. The candidate will be challenged with assist programs in developing data models and establishing and/or improving the data management program. The effort to model the enterprise shall include providing reference, Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Models of both the "as is" and any potential "to be" data structures.
Responsibilities
- Assist in guiding enterprise-wide data architecture strategies integration with enterprise infrastructure and application architectures, as well as data integration processes, data governance models and standards specifications
- Work with end users to gain an understanding of the information and core data concepts behind their Business.
- Work closely with end users, Business Analysts, and the Development Team to develop data models.
- Define Data and System Requirements based on Business Process and/or Business Requirements Analysis.
- Responsible for the design and development of transactional database models for custom application development.
- Responsible for the design and development of database models for the operational data store, data warehouse, and federated databases to support Company's Enterprise Information Management Strategy.
- Work closely with Data Integration developer to define XML schema definitions.
- Provide database implementation and database administrative support for custom application development efforts.
- Perform operational data management for existing applications.
- Assist in the definition of Enterprise Data Standards
- Assist in ensuring cross Data Architecture visibility on enterprise data usage; access, and storage; and how and what methods are used in the data transformation within the data usage lifecycle
- Conform to the National Exchange Information Model (NEIM) standards when developing data models for external facing system interfaces
- Evaluate new and emerging technologies supporting new and changing data standards
- Support and facilitate functional data management discussions and initiatives
- Document the proper sequence of activities that have to be performed to ensure an effective and efficient implementation of the future architecture
- Assist in the promotion of internal and/or external partnerships that improve data integration and information sharing responsiveness
- Gathers business data requirements
- Transforms business requirements into logical data models so that it can be collected once and used for many purposes
- Performs business analysis
- Creates the architecture for data warehouse components to improve access to information relevant in the decision making process
- Perform analysis of existing data assets
- Develop and maintain logical data models
- Develop and maintain physical data models
- Develop and maintain data modeling standards
- Participate in new application development projects
- Data Modeler shall coordinate on an ongoing basis with the data stewards to ensure that any change or modification to the data architecture is captured and data models updated.
Qualifications
- Candidate must have experience with Databricks Informatica and Snowflake
- B.S. or B.A. in Computer Science, Information Systems, and Business Administration
- Experience in SQL coding across standard relational environments (e.g Oracle, Teradata, MySQL, etc.)
- Experience with visualization products and technologies (Such as Tableau, Qlikview, etc.)
- Experience in implementing statistical tools and machine learning algorithms and libraries like Python, Matlab, R, SAS, Stata, etc. working with large varied data sets
- Experience with one or more major data quality tools and platforms, such as Informatica, IBM, SAP, SAS or Trillium
