We are seeking a Public Policy Coordinator to join our team in Sarasota. The Public Policy Coordinator will provide confidential executive administrative support to the VP of Community and Governmental Affairs. Responsibilities include developing and implementing strategies to enhance community engagement and outreach initiatives. You will collaborate with various internal and external personnel to plan and execute community projects, coordinate fundraising, and develop relationships with organizations and Public Officials.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Develop strategic advocacy plans to advance policy priorities aligned with NLN’s objectives
Cultivate relationships with policymakers, government agencies, advocacy groups, and community organizations to influence policy decisions
Collaborate with community stakeholders to understand their needs and concerns regarding proposed development projects
Organize public meetings, workshops, and forums to gather input to build consensus around policy proposals
Develop and implement fundraising strategies to support advocacy efforts, including identifying potential donors, cultivating relationships, and soliciting contributions
Create compelling messaging and communication materials to educate stakeholders and the public about NLN’s policy priorities and development projects
Collaborate with marketing and PR teams to enhance the company’s public image and reputation as a responsible corporate citizen
Monitor legislative and regulatory developments relevant to real estate development, public policy, public-private partnerships, taxes, and land use
Compose and edit correspondence and/or memoranda, verbal direction, or knowledge of established policies, practices, and procedures
Schedule and coordinate meetings, events, interviews, appointments, and similar activities. Manage calendar via Microsoft Outlook
Provide executive-level support, including answering telephones, assisting visitors, and resolving a range of administrative problems and inquiries
Organize, manage, and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment
Manage special projects to maintain organization, ensure timelines are met, and communicate progress
Maintain an organized electronic and paper filing system (Y:/Community & Govt Affairs)

WHAT YOU BRING:
A Bachelor’s degree preferred
A minimum of 4 years of customer service, fundraising and/or executive administrative knowledge with a strong professional presence
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive data with discretion
Superb verbal, written, and listening skills combined with exceptional customer service
Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to see all assignments to successful completion
A high level of proficiency with various computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and database management applications
Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize competing priorities effortlessly in a fast-paced environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
General sedentary work requiring the use of office equipment such as computers, copiers, printers, scanners, and telephones
Position requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, grasping, writing, typing, repetitive motions, hearing ability, visual acuity, and climbing stairs on occasion
May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Some driving will be required
