Position Summary: The Director of Membership, Sales, and Business Development is an innovative and business growth focused role cultivating the guest experience beyond their visit to a winery location. This role leads with an entrepreneurial spirit and ability to engage guests in their journey throughout the Boisset Collection portfolio of luxury brands. The ability to immediately implement new business initiatives across clubs, partnerships, membership, and sales is paramount. The Director will manage a team of Club Managers by brand as well as oversight of the telesales and guest service teams and their direct manager.
Essential Functions:
Business Development and Strategic Partnership Management
• Identify, develop, and lead strategic best in class business partnerships to foster new Membership opportunities.
• Lead local and national Outreach campaigns with key Business Partners.
Sales Development
• Develop Membership sales beyond the regular Club shipments.
• Identify, develop, and expand direct to consumer sales channels, including telesales and digital, that take the Boisset experience beyond the walls of the Tasting Rooms.
• Develop, implement, and manage monthly sales campaigns and initiatives beyond existing Membership Shipments and Tasting Room experiences.
Boisset Collection Club Membership
• Oversee all aspects of the Membership programs (financial, planning, development) and all aspects of the management of Membership team.
• Identify opportunities for Membership program development across brands, in partnership with Marketing.
• Develop goals and incentives for Tasting Room staff to generate sustained Membership growth and engagement, in partnership with Boisset Tasting Rooms.
• Identify and implement mutually beneficial collaboration between existing and new Boisset Membership programs.
• Maintain accurate records of Membership KPIs, provided monthly to VP, including discussion points and analysis.
Additional Functions:
• Comply with all company safety policies, practices, and procedures. Participate in safety training and report all unsafe conditions or work practices.
• Participate in team efforts and perform additional duties as needed.
Necessary Skills:
Language: Ability to speak and understand basic English required for all positions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as memos, instructions, policies, and manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to present information effectively to groups of customers and/or employees and participate in one-on-one and small group situations.
Math:
• Ability to calculate items such as discounts, commissions, simple interest, percentages, areas, circumference, and volume. Ability to understand fractions, ratios, and proportions. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Logic:
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to multiple tasks, analyze and solve practical problems, prioritize, and delegate tasks and projects, work both independently and as part of a team, and adapt to frequent changes in the work environment.
Computer:
• Possess intermediate computer skills which can include e-mail, internet, word processing, spreadsheet, basic database activity, graphic arts, and/or publishing.
Education, Experience, Certificates, Licenses:
• Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a 4-year college or university.
• 8-10 years of proven experience in sales, marketing, and/or relationship management.
• Demonstrated history of successful business development, including ability to network in external markets.
• Management required.
• Current, valid Driver's License, insurable driving record, and proof of current automobile insurance required.
Physical Requirements:
• Moderate physical activity performing occasional somewhat strenuous activities including standing, walking, climbing, reaching, and carrying. Manual dexterity is sufficient to reach, handles items, and work with the fingers. Requires lifting and moving objects up to 50 lbs. in weight. Clear vision (close and distant) and ability to adjust focus. Hearing adequate for telephone, office, and group conversation.
Work Environment:
• Primarily in a well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor setting with adequate ventilation. Periods are required in an un-heated indoor setting (wine cellar) with changing conditions. Short periods outdoors while conducting tours or moving between buildings. Moderate noise levels typical of public space: music sound system, public conversations, telephones/cell phones, large groups.
Schedule and Travel Requirements:
• Variable schedule: primarily a set schedule that will require weekends and evenings.
• Position will require driving and overnight travel.
