We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join our perioperative team as an Administrative Coordinator. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining efficient communication with surgeon offices, managing surgery scheduling, and providing administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of our perioperative department.
Responsibilities:
Surgery Scheduling Communication: Maintain effective communication with surgeon offices via email to ensure accurate scheduling and resolve any conflicts promptly. Notify Nurse Director or charge nurse of special equipment needs, service requests, and changes to the daily surgery schedule.
Administrative Support: Serve as the primary contact for the perioperative department, efficiently triaging phone calls and directing them to the appropriate parties. Accurately post vendor charges to patient accounts and assist with vendor billing information submission. Assist in gathering statistics and other pertinent information related to perioperative services.
Onboarding Assistance: Support the initial onboarding process of perioperative staff members and coordinate vendor readiness for entry into sterile areas, ensuring compliance with check-in processes.
Data Management: Participate in charge master audits as needed and function as a unit resource for surgery scheduling. Assist perioperative personnel with the delivery of stat cultures, blood work, and tissue specimens, ensuring accurate matching with patient records and transportation to the laboratory.
Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies outside normal working hours, including internal and external disasters, demonstrating readiness and adherence to established protocols.

Requirements:
Any combination of secondary training and/or work experience demonstrating the ability to perform the responsibilities of the position.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Knowledge of medical terminology or experience working in a medical setting preferred.
