Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum two years of nursing assistant experience required.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), or obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • CNA license with state of Arizona.

Essential Functions

  • Provides individualized care, which encourages the patient’s ability to maintain or attain the highest practical physical, mental, and psycho-social well-being.
  • Attends to the patient’s needs, which may include assisting to groom, bathe, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, and range of motion, communicating or other needs in maintaining personal care requirements.  
  • Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for position in medical/surgical unit. Patient care duties, including ability to provide for patient care in emergency situations and based upon age-specific needs utilizing a development perspective. .
  • Maintains the comfort, privacy, and dignity of patients in the delivery of services to them. Interacts with patient in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a caring environment.
  • Maintains flexibility with scheduling and job assignments in order to cover patient needs. Ability to work in multiple hospital units.
  • Fosters a positive and professional hospital environment by interacting with all persons in a considerate, helpful and courteous manner and by participating as a team member.
  • Has successfully complete required competencies required of position, EKG, and various task as assigned by the nurse lead or designee and according to policy.
