Position Overview:
We are looking for a well experienced Senior Network Design Engineer to join our team on a new effort supporting our Federal Government Client in Washington, D.C. This role will support the analysis and development of the our client's enterprise systems, including services related to the Intelligence Community IT Enterprise (IC ITE) environment and the Digital Transformation Office (DTO), as well as all initiatives that support OCIO services and management of those services. Additionally, support is required for emerging enterprise priorities, including the development and advancement of new and emerging technologies and innovative solutions yet to be identified. This position would be working on a day shift, M-F.
The primary scope of this work shall be to:
·Design and configure network systems across the enterprise. This includes designing, developing, installing, and configuring in order to optimize all local and wide area network hardware corporate servers, associated software and communication links.
·Provide input and manage short and long-term projects designed to meet business requirements for infrastructure functionality, performance, availability, cost and business continuity needs while taking into account business direction and growth strategies.
·Design and administer server and network systems, storage solutions, virtual environments and cloud architecture.
·Assist with the design, and oversight of, infrastructure related IT governance, Legal and Regulatory required policies and procedures, such as access management and change management
·Implement strategy and standards and ensure compliance and accuracy for assigned technical baselines, including cloud architectures, server technologies, and communication technologies, LANs, WANs, Internet, Intranet, security, wireless implementations and any devices connecting to, or containing DNC data or systems.
·Implement short and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements.
·Ensure effective implementation of hardware, software and communication standards in conjunction with owners and stakeholders.
·Implement testing methodologies for infrastructure performance and security Creates and ensures work flow and systems applications in a clear, concise manner.
·Interact and negotiate with vendors and contractors while leveraging internal Procurement expertise to secure infrastructure-specific products and services.
Position Requirements:
- Active Top Secret Clearance with Counter Intelligence Polygraph required after start.
- Perform work onsite at the customer location in Washington, D.C.
- Telework is not permitted
Required Qualifications:
·Demonstrated experience with core network services connectivity and integration
·Demonstrated experience transforming a legacy network environment with emerging technology with the ability to articulate how it added value (i.e. cost savings, performance improvement, increased reliability)
·Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders, manage competing agendas and priorities, and translate complex information across internal and external audiences.
·Knowledge of Network Systems and emerging technologies
·Experience with Network monitoring tools
Preferred Qualifications:
·Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in Information Management, Computer Science Computer Systems Engineering, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related field preferred.
·Equivalent experience may be substituted for degree.
·Certifications Industry Certification: Ex: CCNA
·Experience with Firewalls & Load Balancer technologies is a plus
