Mesa seeks an electrical engineer with 0-5 years of experience doing substation P&C design in 69kV to 500kV substations.

The successful candidate will work with a team to complete substation P&C design projects to meet client standards and practices.  They will be responsible for maintaining good quality and efficiency while developing deliverables such as:  One-Line Diagrams, AC & DC Schematics, Panel Layouts, Wiring Diagrams, Cable Lists, and Bills of Material.  They must have a good understanding of how substation protection and control systems work as well as be willing to learn the client standards and practices.

Responsibilities

  • On a task basis, is responsible for preparation and completion of discipline engineering designs and supporting documentation such as calculations.
  • Coordinates and prepares calculations, specifications, reports, design details, plans, and drawings within assigned task areas.
  • Interfaces with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects as required.
  • Responsible for adhering to project scope, schedule and budget on all assigned projects.
  • May occasionally supervise and schedule work of other team members.
  • Performs other duties assigned by Principal Engineers or Engineering Manager.
  • Establish, promote, and assure quality on all project work.
  • Work with Group Lead or Engineering Lead to follow up on construction issued with field engineers to help resolve problems and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Attend group meetings with staff as required.
  • Incorporate safe work practices into all activities.
  • Work with Group Lead and team to assist with project execution, work processes, and procedures to help continually improve quality, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Use good verbal and written communication skills with team members and clients.
  • Use good interpersonal skills to build relationships with team members and clients.
  • Possess knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, and AutoCAD.
