We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly dependable professional for a Design Engineering Internship opportunity within our organization! This opportunity will be from May-August 2024!

SUMMARY : Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering project within area of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Designs engine components in CAD
  • Performs engineering calculations for stress, deflections, life and other factors using classical and computer aided methods
  • Reviews and evaluates product request from customer, and formulates conceptual design to meet customer requirements.
  • Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, and bid packages
  • Develops and maintains a schedule and budget for the assigned engineering project.
  • Provides status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management
  • Oversees project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing
  • Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications
  • Analyzes project proposal to determine feasibility, producibility, cost, and production time, and discusses proposal with customer representatives, engineers, and other personnel.
  • Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
  • Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
  • Coordinates design, production, testing, and related activities
  • Consults with project personnel and others to provide technical assistance and information
  • Interfaces with customers to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are met
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Catia, Inventor, and/or AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Must be able to use PowerPoint, MS Project, Excel, and Word.
