Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Electronic Design Engineer for a direct hire/permanent role in Gaithersburg, MD. This role will work collaboratively onsite/in the office Monday-Friday during normal business hours (there are no remote options).
In this role, you will:
- Design and develop innovative technical hardware solutions for satellite and terrestrial communications systems. The areas of interest are high-speed digital hardware design, complex FPGA development, and circuit design utilizing mixed signal ASICs.
- Involvement and contribution to different aspects of the product life cycle including concept, analysis, development, integration, qualification, acceptance, delivery, and maintenance.
- Work effectively across multiple corporate functions including business, engineering, operations, and manufacturing
- Involves selection and lab testing of components for new products.
- Hands-on testing, validation, and optimization using lab equipment such as high-speed oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, function generators.
- Perform schematic capture and high speed signal integrity and power integrity analysis using CAD design software
- Perform FPGA or board verification using Cadence simulation tools and FPGA vendor synthesis tools
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic Engineering or related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in product design including one or more of the following disciplines: High speed digital circuit design, FPGA design and simulation, digital signal processing in embedded devices, high speed interface design, SI and PI tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
- Experience with RF design, high speed ADC/DAC chips or FPGA SoC devices
- Experience with embedded processors and DDR memory and high-speed digital interfaces
- FPGA Design experience using Verilog or VHDL
- Experience in design of digital systems for high quantity and high reliability
- Knowledge of wireless communication systems and signal processing
- Good working knowledge of communications theory
- Great communication and teamwork skills
