Job Description

The CATIA Design Engineer, Body-In-White works within a world leading engineering team, providing design solutions for the Heavy Truck industry, striving to engineer the safest, toughest trucks, with style, technology, and features to make us the most desirable truck body in the marketplace.

The CATIA Design Engineer, Body-In-White has responsibility for Body-In-White (BIW), Doors, Door Hardware, Composite Sleeper Roofs, Windshields, Windows, and Closures.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop new cabs and maintain existing product, including engineering responsibility to develop and release a major assembly on a new project.
  • Design and develop Body Panels and Hardware.
  • Model solutions in 3D using CATIA V5.
  • Create drawings and other engineering documentation.
  • Prepare release documentation and submit into the company databases.
  • Work with cross functional teams to develop solutions to start-up projects and maintenance programs.

Qualifications

  • Must have experience in automotive or heavy truck Cab, Body, and Trim design, preferably including Body-In-White (BIW), Door Hardware, Sealing Systems, and large composite assemblies (Sleeper Cab Roofs).
  • Strong CATIA V5 skills in 3D modeling using surfaces, solids, and drafting is required.
  • Experience using KOLA and PDM Link is preferred.
  • Leadership qualities, along with presentation skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised / independently.
  • Ability to collaborate with local and global teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
