GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • SAFETY FIRST – Every employee of Cellofoam North America Inc. must demonstrate a strong commitment to following all safety standards, procedures, and practices to ensure a safe working environment for themselves and others.
  • General understanding of the manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements and departmental procedures.
  • Preform Facilities Maintenance duties to include painting, drywall, minor plumbing and electric.
  • Recognize and adhere to all company safety programs; knowledge of OSHA, LOTO, and corresponding safety precautions are necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties.
  • Understand all aspects of troubleshooting to include, but not limited too, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, inspection and testing of a variety of production systems and equipment.
  • Set up and install of industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • Repair or replace machine parts; i.e., motors, gearboxes, bearings, etc.
  • Use basic hand tools, power tools, test and shop equipment.
  • Maintain appropriate maintenance and repair logs.
  • Maintain all aspects of equipment preventative maintenance schedules including shift, daily, weekly, monthly, bi-annual, and annual maintenance.
  • Electrical: Work from schematics to troubleshoot proximity sensors, pressure transducers, motors, motor starter/overloads, solenoid valves, etc.
  • Mechanical: Troubleshoot components such as gearboxes, chain drives, bearings, etc. and repair as necessary.
  • Hydraulics/Pneumatics: Work from schematics to troubleshoot solenoid valves, check valves, high/low pressure systems, replace/rebuild cylinders, etc.
  • Programmable Logic Controller (PLC): Ability to read ladder diagrams to troubleshoot proximity sensors, pressure transducers, motors, motor starter/overloads, solenoid valves, etc. Programming PLC’s is a plus.
  • Learn all aspects of machine maintenance and becomes cross-trained in all areas of manufacturing equipment.
  • Requisition parts needed for completion of preventive maintenance responsibilities.
  • Must have the ability to work off shift hours, weekends as needed.
  • Limited travel may be required.
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, schematics, hydraulic and print reading.
  • Ensure that all new and existing equipment or machinery is operating properly.
  • Must be able to operate forklift and scissor lift within the safety guidelines established by Cellofoam.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • May be responsible for supplying hand tools required for the job.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

 Education and Experience:

  • College degree or technical school equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years work experience in preventative maintenance, electrical and mechanical repairs of equipment in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Experience with Facilities Maintenance to include painting, drywall, minor plumbing and electric
  • Experience with manual milling machines and lathes to fabricate or repair components.
  • Experience in MIG, TIG, Stick welding is a plus, on steel and aluminum, fabricate simple components and do repairs.
  • Boiler experience is a plus.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Moderate to heavy physical effort required including sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, climbing steps or ladders, grasping, fine and course manipulation, reaching both forward and above head level, and tolerant of temperature changes for the entire shift.
  • Must be able to push, pull and/or lift up to 50 pounds; and safely operate assigned machinery.
  • Able to operate maintenance equipment, material handling equipment, and man lifts (to heights of 24 feet).
  • Able to withstand frequent exposure to dust, dirt, grease, odors, noise, and heat in a manufacturing environment.

 

Training Requirements:

General Safety Quality System Awareness.  Must be verified by supervisor to be able to sign off on procedures needed to fulfill job requirements within 60 days of hire. Additional training may be required as recommended by Maintenance Manager.


Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Comprehension of the English language, in both written and spoken form, is preferred.
  • Must be able to use simple math and use basic hand held measuring tools.
  • Must be self-motivated while being able to work with others.
  • Must have problem solving skills that can be applied to mechanical systems.
  • Must have general understanding of the manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements and departmental procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and to follow verbal instruction with minimal supervision.
  • Driver record and insurance coverage appropriate to enable legal and safe driving of vehicle(s) for company related business.
