Responsible for performing pre-bill audits to ensure billing requirements are met prior to submission of home health claims and working with the billing department and home health agencies to resolve billing issues timely.
Responsibilities
Performs pre-bill audits to ensure billing requirements are met prior to claim submission
Ensures physician orders are signed
Ensures Face-to-Face Encounter documentation is present
Ensures visit documentation is present for all visits to be billed
Communicates with the billing department and home health agency regarding information needed to ensure timely and accurate filing of claims
Assists the agencies with troubleshooting to resolve issues holding claims
Provides support to agencies daily to ensure timely and accurate billing of claims
Maintains knowledge of Medicare billing requirements
Observes confidentiality and safeguard all patient related information
Notifies Supervisor of problems in a timely manner and works to help provide solutions
Completes ongoing education requirements and demonstrates ongoing competency in required areas

Qualifications
High school graduate or GED
Minimum of two (2) years of administrative experience in a health care environment, preferably in home health and/or hospice, preferred
Knowledge of auditing concepts and principles, medical documentation, and billing requirements
Sound knowledge of the framework, organization, and function of home health including eligibility requirements
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer) with the ability to learn industry specific software applications
Solid organizational skills, thoroughness, and a keen attention to detail with the ability to multi-task while prioritizing effectively
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
