Job Description

Treasury Accountant

Treasury is responsible for cash management, endowment funds, and gift accounting, ensures accuracy while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, and regulatory and organizational standards.

The incumbent performs job responsibilities without posing a significant risk of substantial harm to the health or safety of himself/herself or others while maintaining compliance with all policies and procedures of Christian Care Communities and within the parameters of the Organization’s mission, vision, and values.

  1. Maintains and analyzes the corporate cash management function.
  2. Maintains and administers activities with all banking institutions and corporate credit cards.
  3. Reviews and reconciles weekly Accounts Payable check run.
  4. Serves as primary contact for endowment and investment fund advisors and ensures that investment and spending policies are followed.
    1. Administers the endowment and all invested funds.
    2. Documents and administers spending policy for endowment fund.
  5. Establishes and maintains system to ensure accounting for gifts, both monetary and non-monetary.
    1. Tracks restricted gifts to ensure proper accounting and compliance with donor specifications. 
    2. Prepares analysis of restricted gift activity for financial statement footnote.
  6. Ensures the proper recording of income, gains, & losses to the general ledger.
  7. Provides supporting schedules for financial statement presentation, audit and Form 990.
  8. Oversees the administration of the Financial Edge software system.
  9. Provides support for the bi-weekly payroll function.
  10. Handles special projects as assigned by the Director of Accounting or CFO.
  11. Personifies outstanding customer service to co-workers, clients and vendors by acting as a subject matter resource in a timely, considerate and friendly manner, always maintaining the “Golden Rule” approach; practices patience and kindness.

Qualifications

Required Education:                                       Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university in a         accounting or finance or related areas of accounting coursework

Required Experience:                                     2 years’ experience with accounting

Preferred Experience:                                                 Nonprofit sector

Preferred License and/or Certification:         CPA or financial accounting certification
