GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS:
The team member during this “prior to training” period, has some limitation to the direct/physical patient care they can provide. “on the job” training is a benefit of these programs made possible as a response to the pandemic
The position is part of the Nurse Aide Training Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP)
Once this team member completes the nurse aide classes and required clinical work, the team member is considered a Nurse Aide in Training (NAT).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Answer call lights
Pass ice and water to patients between meals. Assist with hydration cart and HS snack pass
Assist with making patient beds
Assist with laundry portion of STNA job:
Mark personal items (i.e. toothbrush, denture cups, toothpaste, etc…) to prevent cross contamination
Set dining room tables (linens and silver ware) in prep for meal service
Perform one on one visits/companionship with patients
Complete any other non-direct care task assigned by nurse or unit manager
Assist with activities if no other nursing related activities are needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Has a sincere desire to work with the elderly.
Wants to learn and grow in the healthcare field
Meets the eligibility requirements to work in a skilled nursing facility.
