Overview

A leading role in keeping Element Cyber Safe, Secure, Resilient & Compliant both now and into the future. Deputy to the Global Chief Information Security Officer. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong functional leadership across day-to-day operations to support and augment the CISO's overall responsibilities
  • Interface with US government departments and agency partners in relation to maintaining strong partnerships and meeting compliance and notification obligations.
  • Deputy to the Global Chief Information Security Officer
  • Oversee development of the Cyber Defence Strategy, Cyber
  • Security Technology Framework, Cyber Security Engineering and Secure by Design strategies and their delivery roadmaps.
  • Oversee Cyber Defence (Advanced Threat Detection; Incident Response; Incident Management; Threat Intelligence; Threat Hunting; Vulnerability Management; Cyber Security Testing) Cyber Security Engineering and Secure by Design functions.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the Element Cyber
  • Security Strategy and continue to evolve the Element cyber security strategic outlook into the future.
  • Provide leadership, oversight and technical security direction and support in the event of significant cyber incident or crisis
  • Drive remediation initiatives and improvement programmes, along with provision of adequate reporting, metrics, and analysis on BAU technical security management and security risks and controls in order to help senior management and risk owners understand current cyber risk posture.
  • Oversee and gain regular assurance of Cyber Defence, Cyber Security Engineering and Secure by Design – providing direction and prioritisation based on security risk exposure, where required.
  • Championing a positive cyber security culture across Element, working in partnership with Digital and Technology teams to promote cyber security opportunities and to build a sense of culture and common mission across the Digital & Technology Group
  • Acting as a trusted advisor, providing security leadership and guidance to business divisions, projects and third parties.

Role Profile: A successful candidate will have an established background as a security leader responsible for securing complex global environments and developing security solutions at scale while adhering to complex compliance obligations. This leader will demonstrate a mix of tactical and strategic expertise within the incident response function and must be seasoned in managing through sophisticated cyber threats at the scale of a complex enterprise.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience at the team, departmental and organisational level, with strong evidence of building teams; empowering and motivating others across organisational boundaries and creating a culture that promotes diversity and innovation and delivers results.
  • Experience of responding rapidly to significant cyber security incidents, responding to new risks and emerging priorities and utilising crisis management skills and approaches to lead and organise action while remaining resilient under pressure.
  • Demonstrable experience influencing at a senior level up to and including Board Directors, which builds collaborative and trusted internal networks that achieve strategic goals.
  • Have experience of operations in a 24/7 environment and across multiple geographies.
  • The successful candidate must have held a number of senior technologist’s positions, and specifically a senior position within a technology Security team, within a medium to large organisation.
