Description

The Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine, University of Washington School of Medicine and UW Heart Institute is recruiting a full-time Assistant, Associate, or full Professor (without tenure by reason of funding), heart failure cardiologist to join the Advanced Heart Failure, Cardiac Transplant, and Mechanical Circulatory Support services at the University of Washington Medical Center. Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Associate and Professor WOT hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank.  The anticipated start date is September 1, 2024.

The successful candidate will provide clinical care in the inpatient and outpatient settings focused on patients with advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and cardiac transplant. The teaching activities of this position will include attending on clinical services with fellows and mentoring trainees.

The base salary range for this position will be $16,250-$41,667 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation associated with this position may include an administrative salary supplement (ADS), and incentive through UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan.

Qualifications

Applicants must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent), possess or be eligible for medical licensure in Washington state and be board certified/eligible in cardiovascular diseases (or foreign equivalent). The applicant should possess strong clinical skills in the management of end-stage heart failure and transplant/post-transplant patients. Candidates should have a demonstrated record of research and publication.  In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
