Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Associate or Full Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). The Medical Director is responsible for the structure and details of physician rounding schedules, and nighttime coverage systems relevant to the care of the patient. They will ensure providers, including staff, consultants, contractors, attendings, have met facility and VA requirements for privileging, security clearance, computer training and appointment prior to taking call or providing. The Medical Director will perform components of administrative management, participate in conferences and supervise/train physician assistants, residents and medical student trainees.

The Department of Radiation Oncology treats over 2,800 patients annually from a multi-state region covering over 25% of the U.S. geographic area. The University of Washington has the only Radiation Oncology department in North America that has clinical particle beam delivery systems for both proton and neutron therapy. Our clinical approach is collaborative with numerous multidisciplinary clinics, tumor boards and disease specific chart rounds.
