Job Description

As the Network Server Administrator at NineStar Connect, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and security of our IT infrastructure. You'll be a trusted advisor, collaborating with internal teams and external clients to design, implement, and maintain critical server and network solutions. Your problem-solving skills and in-depth knowledge will be essential in troubleshooting complex issues and keeping our systems running at peak performance.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Tier 3 escalation point for the NetAdmin team, handling the most challenging network and server issues.
  • Design, research, configure, implement, and maintain critical infrastructure, including physical & virtual servers, backup and disaster recovery systems, and network appliances.
  • Collaborate with teams across NineStar Connect to understand their needs and develop custom solutions that improve efficiency and security.
  • Proactively monitor network performance, identify potential problems, and implement preventative measures.
  • Manage NineStar Connect's virtual environments and ensure redundancy across multiple locations.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade internal and external network and server systems.
  • Document technical procedures and maintain comprehensive reference materials for training purposes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies by attending seminars, workshops, and pursuing additional certifications.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Technology or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, including experience as a Linux Administrator.
  • In-depth knowledge of server (physical and virtual) implementation, including Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and newer, Linux (RedHat, Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu), and VMware.
  • Expertise in network technologies and protocols, including Layer 2 & 3, security protocols, and Cisco networking.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A passion for learning and staying current with evolving technologies.
