M&S Engineering, LLC seeks a qualified Substation Electrical Engineer at our Spring Branch, Texas location to perform engineering and design duties which require application of engineering principles and knowledge of substation design.
Duties & Responsibilities
Detail engineering and design of substation projects from conceptual design through construction from 4kV to 345kV.
Create/modify design documents and drawings for a project, including one-lines, three-lines, control schematics, wiring diagrams, relay panel arrangements, specifications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, and generating bills of material
Effectively communicate and coordinate project activities with manager, clients, and others as needed
Prepare scopes, schedules, and budgets, and ensure that schedules and budgets are met
Take on a project engineer and/or project manager role as required
Requirements
4-year degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering (emphasis in Power is preferred)
Minimum of 3 years (5 years preferred) applicable post-graduation substation design experience
Current EIT License in the State of Texas or ability to obtain the license within 12 months of hire
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communications skills
Ability to work closely with other engineering and design team members to coordinate overall design package and requirements
Ability to travel
Take personal responsibility and ownership for the quality and accuracy of work product
Proficiency using AutoCAD or Microstation and Microsoft Office Suite
Self-starter
Able to simultaneously manage multiple projects
Work independently or in a team environment
Must be able to routinely lift up to 30lbs
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
