Job Description

The Regional Manager, Attendance and PEIMS will lead the collection and auditing of school level data for state and federal reporting for their respective region. The Regional Manager serves as a policy expert on the Texas Education Code (TEC) as it relates to student data and Texas Education Data Standards (TEDS) to assess potential risk and ensure compliance. Additionally, this role is responsible for participating in regional activities that require compliance review such as academic calendaring, course cataloging, attendance monitoring, master scheduling, and special populations coding.  The Regional Manager, Attendance and PEIMS will report to the Sr. Director, Attendance and PEIMS.

Key Responsibilities:

Auditing/Compliance

  • Coordinate auditing of District PEIMS data against campus records and generate reports on findings.
  • Run edits, reports, and verification checks on data to ensure accuracy of information.
  • Distribute edits and reports to appropriate staff for analysis, verification, and correction.
  • Verify data submitted to TEA and submit corrections in a timely manner.
  • Receive PEIMS-related information from ESC and TEA and disseminate to other staff in a timely manner, including updates to PEIMS Data Standards.
  • Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.

Reporting

  • Ensure timely collection and submission of required federal and state reports including: PEIMS, ECDS, CRDC, FSP, Fitnessgram.
  • Develop deadlines and work cooperatively with campus, Finance, and Human Resources office staff to collect, organize, and format data required to submit district PEIMS data in a timely manner.
  • Compile, maintain, and file physical and computerized reports, records, and documents required.

Training

  • Develop, manage, and present professional development curriculum for student and SSP PEIMS data standards and procedures. Provide training and support to campus/central office staff responsible for processing PEIMS data.
  • Deliver training and workflow documentation to school-based staff responsible for supporting data collection with a strong focus on high quality customer service and satisfaction.

Other

  • Assist special population programs to assure the maximization of school funds generated via PEIMS.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or other administrator that are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications for the position.
  • Support KTX Finance, Operations and Student Support Services leaders by providing requested regional student demographic data for federal ESSA grant submissions and other operational reports such as SPI, Transportation, and Child Nutrition.

Required Education and/or Experience: 

  • 5+ years of professional experience with TSDS/PEIMS or a similar role with at least 2 years of recent experience as a Manager or an equivalent role.
  • Experience working with software platforms in a school district, non-profit or government agency is a plus. Experience with the Skyward platform preferred.

  • Certifications and/or specific trainings or skills

Work Environment: 

  • Typical office environment with frequent interruptions
  • At least three days per week spend in schools
  • This role is regional and is currently open in Austin and Houston 

Travel Requirements: 

  • Ability to travel for training and conferences ~10%
