PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Behavior Technician (BT) is responsible for providing direct implementation of behavior
analytic services for children birth to five years of age with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the BCBA, the BT provides direct services for children diagnosed with ASD. All
intervention services will occur in child development center classrooms, ABA Clinic, or other locations
under the discretion of the BCBA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to):

COMMUNICATIONS and RECORD KEEPING

 Communicates with the BCBA regarding on-going treatment progress in a timely manner.
 Uses open-ended questions to clarify understanding and gain information on child programs from
the BCBA and related team.
 Listens well, processes next steps and appropriately responds to the situation as dictated by the
BCBA.
 Document and submit notes related to the session immediately after the session has occurred.
 Maintain and record data so that it may be displayed for visual analysis and easy dissemination per
the instructions of the BCBA


CONTENT AREA RESOURCE


 Under supervision of the Clinical Supervisor/BCBA, implements ABA intervention for children
diagnosed on the autism spectrum in child development center classrooms, ABA Clinic, or other
locations.
 Completes necessary documentation within required timeframe, including behavioral data
collection and graphing, treatment notes, and other company-related documents for each client.
 Attends staff meetings, monthly trainings, and other meetings as requested.
 Remains current regarding new research, current trends and developments in ABA and related
fields.
 Upholds BT certification requirements set forth by the BACB throughout length of employment.
 Responsible for meeting established minimum productivity requirements, while providing efficient
and effective service in all areas of performance.
 Follows BT Task Analysis 2 and code of ethics in accordance with the Behavior Analysis
Certification Board (BACB).
 Responsible to complete additional job duties (e.g., client material preparation) as assigned by
Supervisors/Management.


LEARNING and GROWTH

 Participates in training as required by funding sources and as necessary to enhance content area
resourcefulness and service delivery.
 Maintain compliance and competency with BT certification.
 Attend conferences related to ABA as needed under the direction of the BCBA.

COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

 May be asked to participate in regular meetings with Babies Can’t Wait to ensure the smooth
delivery of services.
 As directed by the BCBA, collaborates with other professionals related to client needs (i.e., speech
therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, etc.)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
 The ability to stand for sustained periods of time.
 The ability to sit for sustained periods of time.
 The ability to walk or run for sustained periods of time including responding quickly to safety
concerns
 The ability to use hands and fingers to feel, operate a computer, and perform picking, pinching and
whole hand or arm handling tasks.
 The ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, sit on the floor, or crawl as needed when working with small
children on their level.
 The ability to reach, extending arms in any direction.
 The ability to push or pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
 The ability to lift and carry a child up to age 5
 The ability to work in both indoor conditions and outdoor conditions.

OTHER DUTIES:
 Performs other duties as assigned by BCBA

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Prior paid or volunteer experience with individuals with special needs.

• Registered Behavior Technician certification (If employee does not already have an RBT certification,
ESNG will reimburse employees after the completion of the 40-hour training and passing of the RBT
certification exam. Passing the requirements set forth by the BACB within 45 days of hiring date is required
to maintain employment.)

 Must possess the ability to travel to Easter Seals Child Development Centers.
