Description

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Washington (UW) in Seattle is seeking a full-time faculty member at the Assistant Professor without tenure due to funding (WOT) level for an academic appointment. UW Medicine is the premier academic medical center in Washington state, encompasses 4 hospitals in the Seattle metro area and is the primary referral hospital for the five-state WWAMI (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho) region. The department supports a residency program, three fellowship programs and is a major teaching site for UW medical students.

This opportunity will be predominantly at the UW Montlake Campus in Seattle; however, the division also provides care at five satellites in the greater Seattle area, Yakima, and Tri-Cities each week, round-the-clock Labor & Delivery coverage, and a large telemedicine program. If desired, protected time to grow your educational and research goals may be negotiated.

Joining the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at UW provides a broad scope of clinical opportunities including: treating the most complicated fetal anomalies and maternal conditions in a diverse patient population, working on an extremely high acuity labor floor, engaging in a unique collaboration with midwifery services, subspecialists in complex maternal conditions, and participating in a growing fetal therapy program. UW additionally has a strong record of supporting educators and researchers especially in grant funding within our department.

Candidates will be expected to perform outpatient obstetrical imaging, will be expected to work in high-volume inpatient and outpatient clinical practices, and will be expected to work in and build teams, and will be expected to support the academic mission of UW Medicine to improve the health of the public through education and research. The successful candidate will benefit from the strong research infrastructure and interdisciplinary culture that exists within our Department and the broader UW community.

Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. This position has an anticipated start date of July 1, 2024.

The base salary range for this position will be: $22,500 - $26,250 per month ($270,000 - $315,000 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Washington is committed to an inclusive environment and to reducing inequities in patient care through education, research, leadership, and excellence in clinical care. We strongly believe that diversity enriches training, scientific discovery and promotes the best healthcare. The University of Washington, a Recipient of the 2006 Alfred P. Sloan award for Faculty Career Flexibility, is committed to supporting the work-life balance of its faculty.
