Discover Impactful Work:
The Sr. Materials Planner will provide guidance over the Supply Chain process at the Liverpool, NY site that is part Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD) of Thermo Fisher Scientific. Responsible for the coordination of the on-time delivery of supply that support our manufacturing and assembly processes to meet company objectives and customer requirements.
A Day in the Life:
- Provide oversight of the procurement and supply chain process to ensure that materials are on order and delivery dates support shipping schedules for finished product
- Provide oversight of the ERP system to ensure data integrity, reconciling any logical discrepancies in ERP to align with the physical inventory
- Lead the physical inventory process including reconciling cycle counts, managing non-conforming materials inventory, end of life stock, and scrap
- Prepare and analyze monthly inventory forecast reports
- Ensure mid-stream engineering changes and drawing revisions are managed correctly in ERP system so that the proper part design levels are procured
- Establish shipping schedules for the standard product lines in collaboration with the Operations Manager
- Effectively analyze inventory levels to minimize inventory days of supply (DoS) and minimize inventory carrying costs to meet the Operation’s annual operating plan (AOP)
- Manage and report on any vendor pricing inflation and purchased part variances (PPV)
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
Experience:
- 5 years’ relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
- 5 years’ experience with ERP systems in a materials coordination capacity
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of inventory management and supply chain processes
- Demonstrated history of providing leadership and oversight for a manufacturing materials organization
- Proficient with MS Excel including pivot tables and macros for data analysis
- Ability to problem solve and identify potential issues with demand or supply

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in New York is $98,500.00–$100,000.00.
