Our client, a busy, personal injury firm in midtown Manhattan is seeking a high-level Personal Injury Attorney, to join our winning team in New York City.
We are seeking an associate with approximately 3 years of recent, relevant experience. Applicants MUST be able to handle all types of personal injury matters from intake through trial preparation, including investigation, pleadings and discovery, medical records, depositions, extensive client contact and trial assistance. Spanish speaking is a plus.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage all phases of plaintiff personal injury litigation, from case inception to resolution.
Conduct legal research and gather relevant case information for NY and NJ cases.
Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court team members.
Manage case files and maintain organized documentation. Schedule depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings Assist in trial preparation, including witness coordination and exhibit preparation.
Negotiate settlements with insurance companies on behalf of clients.
Manage two paralegals.
Take depositions and original motion hearings.
Prepare arbitration statements and trial information statements.
Travel to Court, client meetings and conduct zoom meetings when applicable.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to listen clearly, manage multiple caseloads and a team.
Proficiency in negotiating settlements with insurance carriers and resolving property damage claims.
Ability to trial cases and interact with clients.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Excellent ability to manage multiple tasks and work well under tight deadlines and pressure.
Must be willing to work in a challenging environment.
Must have a Juris Doctorate or equivalent.
Must be Licensed in New Jersey.
Possess a strong academic record of 3.0 and above (preferred).
5+ years of proven experience as a Plaintiff Personal Injury Attorney.
Exhibit strong written and oral communication skills.
Bilingual in (English/Spanish) is a plus.
