Our client, a multidiscipline, boutique law firm, has an immediate opening for an experienced Senior Labor & Employment Attorney, to join our winning team in Dallas.
Our candidate of choice will focus on employment-related matters. In addition to handling litigation cases, the ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience in representing employers in lawsuits and administrative proceedings involving allegation of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and unpaid wages.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide advice on a range of labor and employment law issues, such as wage and hour disputes, discrimination, and wrongful termination.
Advise clients on compliance with state and federal employment laws.
Represent clients in administrative proceedings and court actions.
Investigate potential labor law violations.
Handle employment litigation, which may involve preparing legal briefs, other pleadings, and determining litigation strategy.
Draft and review employment-related documents like contracts and severance agreements.
Collaborate with HR and management on company policies and employee handbooks to ensure legal compliance.
Conduct training programs for HR and management on employment law compliance.
Monitor changes in employment laws and regulations and advise clients accordingly.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
Expert Knowledge: Strong understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex legal issues.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, including explaining complex legal concepts to non-attorneys.
Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous in preparing and reviewing legal documents.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to develop practical solutions to complex employment issues.
Collaboration & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing parties.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases and deadlines.
Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
