Senior Labor & Employment Attorney

Our client, a multidiscipline, boutique law firm, has an immediate opening for an experienced Senior Labor & Employment Attorney, to join our winning team in Dallas.

Our candidate of choice will focus on employment-related matters. In addition to handling litigation cases, the ideal candidate will have 8-10  years of experience in representing employers in lawsuits and administrative proceedings involving allegation of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and unpaid wages.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide advice on a range of labor and employment law issues, such as wage and hour disputes, discrimination, and wrongful termination.
  • Advise clients on compliance with state and federal employment laws.
  • Represent clients in administrative proceedings and court actions.
  • Investigate potential labor law violations.
  • Handle employment litigation, which may involve preparing legal briefs, other pleadings, and determining litigation strategy.
  • Draft and review employment-related documents like contracts and severance agreements.
  • Collaborate with HR and management on company policies and employee handbooks to ensure legal compliance.
  • Conduct training programs for HR and management on employment law compliance.
  • Monitor changes in employment laws and regulations and advise clients accordingly.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Expert Knowledge: Strong understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex legal issues.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, including explaining complex legal concepts to non-attorneys.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in preparing and reviewing legal documents.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to develop practical solutions to complex employment issues.
  • Collaboration & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing parties.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
