Our client, a multidiscipline, boutique law firm, has an immediate opening for an experienced Senior Labor & Employment Attorney, to join our winning team in Dallas.
Our candidate of choice will focus on employment-related matters. In addition to handling litigation cases, the ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience in representing employers in lawsuits and administrative proceedings involving allegation of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and unpaid wages.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide advice on a range of labor and employment law issues, such as wage and hour disputes, discrimination, and wrongful termination.
- Advise clients on compliance with state and federal employment laws.
- Represent clients in administrative proceedings and court actions.
- Investigate potential labor law violations.
- Handle employment litigation, which may involve preparing legal briefs, other pleadings, and determining litigation strategy.
- Draft and review employment-related documents like contracts and severance agreements.
- Collaborate with HR and management on company policies and employee handbooks to ensure legal compliance.
- Conduct training programs for HR and management on employment law compliance.
- Monitor changes in employment laws and regulations and advise clients accordingly.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Expert Knowledge: Strong understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex legal issues.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, including explaining complex legal concepts to non-attorneys.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous in preparing and reviewing legal documents.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to develop practical solutions to complex employment issues.
- Collaboration & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing parties.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases and deadlines.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
