Job Purpose: To provide maintenance, fixture and equipment installations, and general cleanup for all agency facilities.
Qualifications:
This position requires a person capable of conforming to the high standards and behavior expected of all staff. Excellent work habits, including attendance and punctuality, are required. The person in this position must follow safety policies and other policies established by the agency.
Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.
Experience: Minimum of three years of general experience in the building or maintenance profession, including reading and interpreting specifications and maintaining facilities/equipment records.
Clearances:
Must be able to obtain acceptable results for required background checks, including Act 151 Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania Criminal History Check, and Department of Human Services- FBI Fingerprints.
Other:
Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Must also have an operating telephone, so that he/she may be contacted quickly by Goodwill when necessary.
Computer proficiency:
Experience and knowledge of standard computer programs including word processing, spreadsheets, databases and the Internet.
Skills, Duties, and Responsibilities:
1. Perform maintenance, repair, and renovation to the following agency owned or leased facility structures and systems:
- Plumbing
- Electrical
- Carpentry
- Locks and Keys
- Security doors
- Signs and building directories
- Glass and doors
- Cleanup
- Assist IT in running cables and IT related issues upon request
- Perform occasional routine maintenance including:
- Changing Lightbulbs
- Minor repairs to the structure and/or office furnishings
- Furniture storage, installation and removal
- Unclogging drain systems
- Changing receptacles or switches
- Painting
- Sealing Leaks
- Property protection
- Responsible for other duties as assigned or identified, for the benefit of Goodwill or Mission Services. Some of these other duties may be considered non-essential to the position.
- Ability to work congenitally and effectively with other store employees and other Goodwill employees.
- Ability to interact appropriately with store customers and donors.
- Ability to communicate clearly with customers, co-workers and staff both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule on short notice, including evenings, weekends, holidays and occasionally long hours (more than 8 hours).
- Must be dependable in attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to perform basic job duties with a minimal amount of supervision, exercising good judgment and initiative.
- Knowledge of methods, practices, equipment and supplies used in facility maintenance.
- Ability to analyze problems and offer alternate solutions.
