Preform preventative maintenance on various equipment and mechanical devices.
May repair conveyors, plumbing/pipes, electrical motors and controls; simple electrical repairs; rough carpentry, painting, cleaning, lubricating, making/repairing air lines, changing cutter knives, changing filters, or other general repairs.
Document and log daily activates.
Perform duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
Report system problems immediately to management.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area and surrounding area.
Maintain an excellent attendance record and an excellent safety and work quality record.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess adequate knowledge of mechanical devices, maintenance procedures, and hands on skills to make “basic repairs”.
Must be able to operate a fork lift.
Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including standing, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50lbs, carrying and climbing).
Self-starter, aggressive work ethic.
Safety conscious.
Must be flexible to work any shift and/or to adjust shift when necessary.
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
Ability to work in various conditions with exposure to weather elements.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Legally eligible to work in the United States.
Must have adequate knowledge of mechanical devices and maintenance procedures.
Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, instructions, signs, signals, and safety training.
High school education or equivalent desired.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Exposure to weather elements.
Exposure to dust, noise, heat, cold, and fumes found in a shop environment.
