Butler Hospital – part of the Care New England health care system is seeking board certified nurse practitioner of physician assistant to join the collaborative, multidisciplinary team of APRNs, Brown University-affiliated physicians and physician assistants providing medical care at an organization with a long-respected history. About the Opportunity
Monday - Friday, 10 - 12 patients per day, no call or weekends
Perform admission history and physical exams for patients admitted to inpatient units and substance abuse partial hospital program
Perform consultations upon request for evaluation and management of acute and chronic medical issues
Interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies as required for patient care
Perform minor procedures such as wound care, dressing changes, suture/staple removal
Assist in management of urgent medical situations and participate in the medical emergency response team
Collaborate with psychiatric, medical, and nursing staff to ensure timely and appropriate care of all patients
Board certified or actively participating in certification process. Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Rhode Island. Current Basic Life Support certification
Strong clinical skills with a broad foundation of general medical knowledge and ability to work independently
At least 2 years of experience preferred
Interest in working with diverse population of behavioral health patients
Experience in mental health care helpful but not required
