This position is for the newly graduated registered licensed practical nurse (LPN) with less than 6-8 months of clinical experience. Under the supervision of the nurse residency program manager, the home health LPN resident acquires the skills and knowledge to provide direct patient care in the home care setting. The program provides an individually paced supervised clinical experience with progressive independence and structured education in a variety of formats for adult learners. Examples include traditional classroom learning, interactive case studies, role playing and simulation opportunities and skills labs. The LPN resident will transition to an LPN who effectively provides skilled care to home care patients in collaboration with an interprofessional team. These responsibilities will be carried out in accordance with organization policies/procedures and standards consistent with federal, state, and accreditation regulations.
