CNO Developer/Data Scientist

FRDA is looking for a skilled CNO Developer/Data Scientist who will participate in security research, design, development, verification, and deployment of complex new software in support of new and existing requirements. The role includes a mix of vulnerability research and development of cyber capabilities involving desktop and mobile platforms. You will support a variety of short-range and medium-range customer operations requiring custom solutions. Your engineering experience and skills from the following areas will be applied to meet requirements: Vulnerability Research, Reverse Engineering, Networking, Virtualization, Firmware, and/or C, as well as data science, large language model training, and experience in C programming for high-performance systems.

Minimum Basic Requirements for Skills, Experience, Education, and Credentials:

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience
  • Demonstrated experience in writing software in: Python, C, C++, or similar languages
  • Demonstrated experience in reverse engineering, vulnerability research, and exploitation
  • Development experience in one or more of the following platforms: Linux, Windows, iOS, Android
  • Proven experience in data science techniques, including data collection, analysis, and modeling
  • Experience in developing and optimizing large language models (LLMs) for security-related tasks and applications
  • Hands-on experience in C development for system-level or performance-critical applications
  • Related BA/BS degree from an accreditted college or university or five years of additional related work experience
  • US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required

Preferred Qualifications include:

  • Demonstrated in-depth understanding of low-level development at the OS level is preferred
  • MA/MS Degree in related technical field is preferred
  • Kernel experience
  • RE experience with Ghidra, IDA Pro, BNinja
  • VR/RE/exploit experience as it pertains to the Linux Kernel or Android OS/Kernel
  • Experience with machine learning, particularly in training and deploying large language models for cybersecurity use cases
  • Familiarity with data science libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and tools for processing large datasets in security contexts
