JOB SUMMARY
Perform application development functions with limited supervision across a variety of platforms and
frameworks. Participate with and help coordinate the delivery of final applications satisfying provided
visual, experience, and software design specifications.

- Develop and design applications, utilizing consistent programming, testing, and documentationskills, that reflect the requirements provided.
- Learn and adopt new development methodologies and languages.
- Work independently to solve complex problems.
- Initiate and participate in pair-programming and coaching sessions with team members toaccomplish project requirements.
- Assist in the coding and design of applications that reflect the visual and interaction designsprovided within the established technical framework.
- Rapidly produce interim deliverables (such as technical specifications, prototypes, proofs ofconcept, etc.) in addition to the final live application.
- Develop automated test cases that ensure the provided specifications are met.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, communicating effectively with project managers and peerdevelopers.
- Participate in writing detailed technical and functional specification documentation and codingstandards.
- Conduct research and suggest new techniques and methodologies for application development.
- Complete other projects as assigned.

- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong creative problem solvingskills and the ability to successfully work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must be detail oriented and have a proven ability to learn new languages and developmentmethodologies.
- An understanding of all aspects of the software development life cycle (e.g. requirements,analysis, design, implementation, testing and documentation) and Agile and IterativeDevelopment execution models is desired.
- Effectively interface with external contacts, Brotherhood employees, managers, and departmentstaff members providing technical support and expertise regarding the maintenance andintegration of applications.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
List Degree Requirement, Years' Experience, and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent degree is required.
- Three or more years working with HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ruby/jRuby, Java, ColdFusion, and/orother frameworks used to develop web applications, or programming in a System i environment;TDD and/or BDD, Git or a similar Version Control / Source Code Management solution is desired.
- Exposure to and understanding of insurance or financial industry is desired.
