Job Summary:
The Associate Director reports directly and provides support to and in partnership with the Director of Behavioral Health. The ideal candidate will have a strength-based orientation and commitment to the mission of community wellness and recovery. Leadership skills will include the ability to lead change by demonstrating strategic thinking, collaboration, effective communication, and an emphasis on enhanced service delivery. Major Areas of Responsibility, include but are not limited to:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include supervision of key leadership positions
Oversight of a wide-range of key prioritized high-impact initiatives related to performance improvement, access to care, quality improvement, and the ongoing support and monitoring of Behavioral Health programs, including services and contracts, to ensure programs and practices are in compliance with relevant standards of care and regulations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Ensures the delivery of high-quality, culturally relevant behavioral health treatment and prevention services to La Clínica’s clients and patients in accordance with best practices
Directs clinical and/or operational activities through appropriate delegation, prioritization, and managerial oversight
Provides support, supervision, oversight, and evaluation of supervisors and managers
Leads change to implement new programs and improve existing programs
Supports recruitment and retention of behavioral health staff
Ensures staff development through training, coaching, mentoring, and performance management
Leads or provides input into development of projects and workflows to further population management approach to care delivery
Establishes and strengthens linkages across Behavioral Health programs, and other programs and services internal and external to La Clínica
Oversees development of and adherence to policies, procedures and performance standards related to the practice of mental health including prevention, assessment, and treatment, access to care, productivity, clinical guidelines, and quality
Monitors and evaluates department processes and recommends and implements solutions; forecasts access and revenue trends and provides input into long-range plans for the department and ensures goals are reached
Assures adherence to La Clínica’s Personnel Policies, Procedures, and Union Contract, as well as community standards of care and county, state and federal regulations related to the delivery of Behavioral Health services
Directs and provides oversight, coordination and supervision of behavioral health quality improvement and quality assurance activities. Ensures development of standards, guidelines, workflows and develops qualitative and quantitative reports to drive progress in quality goals
Maintains and enforces all aspects of confidentiality of client information
Acts in the place of the Director's in his/her absence or as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High degree of interpersonal competence with staff, patients, clients, and stakeholders
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation skills, able to communicate with people from diverse ethnic, socio-economic, educational and life experience
Exceptional management skills, able to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to lead change in evolving environments
Ability to work effectively within a team environment with diverse stakeholders
Excellent skills in complex problem solving, planning, analysis, and project management
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Education and Experience:
Licensure in California as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or a Licensed Psychologists (PhD, PsyD)
Eight (8) years of experience in Behavioral Health, including four (4) years in a supervisory capacity
Must have driver’s license and own transportation to travel to La Clínica's sites in Alameda, Contra Costa, and Solano Counties
Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
Physical Requirements:
Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
Bending/lifting, pushing/pulling, adjusting, or moving objects up to 15 pounds in all directions
Repeating motions that may include the neck, wrists, hands and/or fingers
