What You Need
- Master’s Degree in Human Services or related field from a nationally accredited college or university and a minimum of one year of experience in social work, counseling, or related area of experience and postgraduate direct service delivery experience preferred in conducting clinical interviewing and assessment, as well as individual and group counseling, preferred, or
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field from a nationally accredited college or university and a minimum of five years of experience in social work, counseling, or related area of experience and direct service delivery experience preferred in conducting clinical interviewing and assessment, as well as individual and group counseling.
- Licensed or license eligible in respective field: LMHC, LMFT and LMSW, if applicable.
- Experience working with children and youth in inpatient, residential, or detention facilities, preferred.
- Experience working in an ethical and culturally diverse environment with undocumented children and/or refugees, preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Be able to communicate (written and verbal) in English and Spanish effectively with all staff and youth.
- Have a workable understanding of appropriate theory and methodology in psychology.
- Ability to utilize evidence-based theory to conceptualize clinical cases to formulate treatment plans and related techniques and interventions.
- Experience working with children, youth, and/or families from high-risk backgrounds.
- Be familiar with DSM5, ICD10 assessment and diagnosis.
- Sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
- Must be able to work within the philosophy of services to children and families consistent with the ministry and goals of the Florida United Methodist Children's Home and the contract with the Board or Child Care/Office of Refugee Resettlement.
- Successful completion of pre-service training and job shadowing.
- Cleared tuberculosis test results.
- Cleared background check from appropriate entity.
- Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire.
