Position Description:
- Employees in this position perform a wide variety of duties related to the care, treatment, and rehabilitation of clients. These employees are aware of available community resources and function as a member of a treatment team.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interviews and orients clients and collects information necessary to complete the intake process, not including treatment recommendations.
- Under the supervision of the supervisor (Clinical, Program, Nursing, Program Coordinator, and/or Similar), the employee records individual case information, updates case files, and provides case status information in order to provide a complete record of services.
- Confers with supervisor and other team members at staff meetings, providing and/or receiving information as necessary to assure proper case management.
- Collects and maintains data related to specific reporting requirements of grants, special client programs, and intra-agency referrals, as assigned by the supervisor (Clinical, Program, Nursing, Program Coordinator, or similar).
- Provides specific community liaison services as assigned by supervisor.
- Provides clients with Orientation to the agency.
- Teaches interactive alcohol/drug education classes and provides other educational services.
- Completes urine specimen collection and documentation per agency collection procedures.
- Performs other reasonable and related duties as assigned.
Minimum Training and Experience:
- Requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. and, preferably, one year of experience in a mental health or addictions treatment setting.
- Requires knowledge of addictions treatment and/or mental health treatment program and supportive services.
- Requires general understanding of the causes, nature, and treatment of substance abuse and/or mental health programs.
