Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, in collaboration with parents, general education teachers, and other support staff.
Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities, utilizing evidence-based strategies to support their academic, social, and emotional growth.
Adapt curriculum materials and instructional techniques to meet the individual needs of students, including those who are English Language Learners (ELLs).
Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional plans accordingly.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, goals, and individualized support strategies.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
Illinois Professional Educator License with endorsement in Special Education (LBS1).
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families.
