Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, in collaboration with parents, general education teachers, and other support staff.
• Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities, utilizing evidence-based strategies to support their academic, social, and emotional growth.
• Adapt curriculum materials and instructional techniques to meet the individual needs of students, including those who are English Language Learners (ELLs).
• Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional plans accordingly.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, goals, and individualized support strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Illinois Professional Educator License with endorsement in Special Education (LBS1).
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families.
