Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide direct support to students with exceptionalities, including but not limited to those with autism, learning disabilities, and emotional or behavioral challenges.
Assist classroom teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment by promoting student engagement, participation, and independence.
Collaborate with school staff, including teachers, therapists, and administrators, to ensure that students receive appropriate support and services.
Monitor student progress and behavior, collect data, and communicate effectively with team members to facilitate student success.
Implement behavior management strategies and interventions in accordance with school policies and procedures.
Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, as needed, to support students' physical and emotional well-being.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher preferred.
Previous experience working with students with exceptionalities in an educational or similar setting.
Florida Paraprofessional Certification.
Knowledge of special education principles, practices, and strategies for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students overcome challenges and achieve success.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work collaboratively as part of a team, and follow instructions from supervising teachers and administrators.
