Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to students with exceptionalities, including but not limited to those with autism, learning disabilities, and emotional or behavioral challenges.
• Assist classroom teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment by promoting student engagement, participation, and independence.
• Collaborate with school staff, including teachers, therapists, and administrators, to ensure that students receive appropriate support and services.
• Monitor student progress and behavior, collect data, and communicate effectively with team members to facilitate student success.
• Implement behavior management strategies and interventions in accordance with school policies and procedures.
• Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, as needed, to support students' physical and emotional well-being.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher preferred.
• Previous experience working with students with exceptionalities in an educational or similar setting.
• Florida Paraprofessional Certification.
• Knowledge of special education principles, practices, and strategies for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students overcome challenges and achieve success.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work collaboratively as part of a team, and follow instructions from supervising teachers and administrators.
