Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assists with the coordination and implementation of the curriculum.
  2.  Assists in the planning of curriculum program that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students.
  3. Utilizes the coaching model (planning, demonstrating, providing feedback) with teachers .
  4. Assists teachers in guiding the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects to communicate these objectives to students.
  5. Assists teachers in employing a variety of instructional techniques.
  6. Assumes the responsibilities of the role as catalyst for positive change and key stakeholder in overall campus performance and culture.
  7. Strives to implement by instruction and action the school’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
  8. Provides site based professional development to staff that is aligned to the needs of students based upon student assessment.
  9. Assists administration and classroom teachers in the interpretation of student assessment data.
  10. Assists in coordinating and monitoring intervention services to identified students.
  11. Participates in professional development and shares the content with school personnel.
  12. Assists with the development of the school CHOICE 4-E academic plan based on data analysis.
  13. Collaborates with principals on the progress of the CHOICE 4-E plan and data.
  14. Monitors and supports teachers through the coaching cycle to ensure effective instructional delivery.
  15. Assists in data chats with administrators and teachers to interpret assessment data, adjust instruction, and plan effective remediation and enrichment instruction to increase student achievement.
  16. Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
  17. Submits a weekly plan for their time, a weekly report on what was accomplished, and timely coaching logs outlining progress made with teachers receiving coaching support.
  18. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
  19. Maintains accurate, complete and correct records as required by law and administrative regulation.
  20. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rule governing student life and conduct, and for the classroom develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
  21. Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
  22. Attends meetings as required.
  23. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the VP for Curriculum/Director/Principal may from time-to-time assign.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor of Arts/Science in Education or field instruction required
  2. Florida certification in the subject area required
