Description

The University of Washington’s Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine, is seeking applicants for a full-time (0.5 to 1.0 FTE) faculty position to be based at the Women’s Health Care Center (WHCC).  The position will be at the Clinical Instructor, Clinical Assistant Professor, or Clinical Associate Professor level.  This position will involve serving as a primary care provider at WHCC, and teaching and precepting residents and students, with optional inpatient attending of two to four weeks per year at UWMC-Montlake.

Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank.  All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.  Clinical faculty hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms.  Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.  The earliest start date would be May 1, 2024.

Salary

The base salary range for this position will be: $15,834 - $17,500 per month ($190,008 - $210,000 annually) for the Instructor rank, $17,584 - $18,750 per month ($211,008 - $235,000 annually) for the Assistant Professor rank, or $19,667 - $20,834 per month ($236,000 - $250,000 annually) for the Associate Professor rank, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Qualifications

Applicants must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and board certification* in Internal Medicine (or foreign equivalent) and must be eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S,) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

*Note: Board certification in Internal Medicine must be completed within two years after residency.
