Description

The University of Washington (UW) Department of Medicine, Division of Medical Oncology is recruiting for a full-time (1.0 FTE) faculty member specializing in clinical care of patients with Hematology and Oncology disorders based in Poulsbo, Washington. The position would be at the Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor level with a Clinician Position in the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center Cancer program. This position will hold an annual appointment that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center- Peninsula in Poulsbo is an integrated medical and radiation oncology clinic serving patients on the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsulas. Predominant responsibilities will be clinical in nature and include evaluation and treatment of patients with cancer and hematologic disorders, accrual of patients to clinical research studies and participation in tumor boards and other case conferences. The selected individual would be an active participant in the clinical care and teaching programs of the division. 

The base salary range for this position will be $16,667 to $19,214 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through UW Physicians practice plan. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Qualifications

·       MD (or foreign equivalent) and fellowship training in Medical Oncology and Hematology (or foreign equivalent).

·       Eligible for WA state licensure

·       In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

·       Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience in general oncology and hematology, interest and aptitude in building a community practice and a desire to practice as member of a highly skilled team.

·       University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.
