Title: Senior Project Manager

Department/Discipline: Project Management

Overview: The Senior Project Manager has day-to-day management of their own projects and assumes accountability for the training and mentoring of junior PM staff on project initiation and planning, directing and managing project execution, monitoring and controlling project work, and scheduling of all project activities for multichannel tactics. The Senior Project Manager is accountable for ensuring that all projects are effectively and efficiently executed and delivered successfully against client expectations and delivered on-time, on-budget, and error-free contributing to overall agency profitability. The Senior Project Manager demonstrates an expert knowledge of and is accountable for managing the team’s adherence to agency processes and SOP’s and revisiting when change is needed. Depending on the size of assigned account, Sr. Project Managers may be asked to lead PMs and operate as primary point person with an overall holistic view of the account, including jobs, staffing, and tactics within.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to propel jobs from initiation to final delivery while following and promoting the agency process
  • Oversee the production and distribution of daily hot sheets, meeting notes and weekly status and financial reports
  • Proven ability to plan, organize and lead focused kickoff, status and sunset meetings
  • Develop accurate assumptions, project plans and financial structures for all online and offline projects
  • Oversee the development of scope of work details (assumptions, project plan, allocations, and budget) for offline projects, digital banners, email campaigns and websites
  • Proactively identify and rectify potential issues during the project life cycle
  • Provide strong leadership while overseeing the team’s activities to guarantee overall quality of work and ensure all projects are following agency process and delivered on time and on budget while reinforcing agency’s core values
  • Partner with Account and Finance to review weekly and monthly financial reconciliations with internal team and client as needed
  • Proactively identify and provide solutions to situations that are prohibiting and/or denigrating the team’s ability to collaborate, follow agency process, meet goals, and deliver high quality creative assets
  • Have the ability to own additional projects and tasks when necessary while maintaining current workload
  • Resolve conflicts among competing priorities and resources to ensure timely delivery according to the approved project plan
  • Consistently demonstrate active problem resolution skills in order to preserve and strengthen the agency process and support Executional Excellence
  • Troubleshoot and provide solutions for expedited deadlines, limited project budgets and agency resources
  • Manage change, evaluate risk, and assess potential impacts on project delivery
  • Demonstrate maturity and professionalism when making difficult decisions, managing challenging situations and dealing with conflicting opinions
  • Develop deep relationships with extended team members that encourage a positive team culture, builds trust, and supports productivity
  • Ability to lead and mentor up to 3 direct reports, identify, and close knowledge gaps, and provide support as they execute their performance goals
  • Ensure direct reports are successful with identifying and resolving conflicts among competing priorities and resources to assure timely delivery according to the project plan
  • Self-motivated to learn, educate and promote emerging technologies when planning client tactics
  • process including payment criteria, providing clear verbal and written direction and establishing a risk mitigation and escalation process for each engagement
  • Manage the financial health of individual projects by analyzing weekly actual hours reports and monitoring project percent complete against budget percent complete
  • Regularly monitor and communicate project information on scope, budget, and timing to extended team
  • Lead weekly team status meeting to discuss health of active projects, identify upcoming projects and resolve conflicts and/or roadblocks
  • Ensure that changing resource and project requirements are communicated to all members of the team and supporting departments, and that the changes are documented and understood by all members of the team
  • Consistently identify, document, and escalate changes in project scope that negatively impact agency’s financial forecast and/or revenue stream
  • Submission champion in Medical/Legal/Regulatory (MLR) systems
  • Develop strong digital knowledge by attended training sessions, reviewing available SOP documentation, and researching technical specifications of current agency projects

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 8+ years interactive project management experience in an advertising agency or similar environment.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent
  • Proactive, critical thinker who is able to manage multiple clients/brands simultaneously on projects with varying levels of complexity
  • Experience managing technology resources including; planning, scheduling, and prioritization
  • Solid understanding of various interactive channels including responsive websites, mobile, banners, iPad applications and emails
  • Familiarity with infrastructure, process and/or System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and/or (5 D’s) and agency workflow
  • Expertise in quality assurance process, UAT, quality controls process and documentation
  • Annual SOW creation and management including forecasting and resource management
  • Solid understanding and experience with CRM programs and components
  • Expertise in Project Management Software, such as MS Project, Workfront, Smartsheets or Hive
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite with proficiency in Excel and Visio (or other workflow applications)
  • Strong communication (written, verbal, presentation) skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

The range below represents the low and high end of the base salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of an Omnicom Health Group company in the United States. Salaries will vary based on various factors including but not limited to professional and academic experience, training, associated responsibilities, and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.

  • $75,500 - $120,000
