SUMMARY:
Work in conjunction with the Manager, Production to provide oversight of crews in the performance of track maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish a safety culture foundation based on compliance with GWI safety rules, regulations and environmental responsibilities
- Assist in planning, directing and managing daily activities of maintenance of way crew
- Provide training to employees that includes but is not limited to safety, and equipment operations and maintenance
- Enforce compliance with safety, and operational procedures
- Monitor and direct performance of subordinate employees
- Interface with others to ensure efficient and organized operations of the railroad along with the maintenance of the track
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minium of 3 years of progressive leadership growth in railroad engineering preferred
- Understand and carry out oral and written communication both general and technical
- Experience in Microsoft office including Word, Excel, Etc.
- Field position with extensive travel required
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR CREDENTIALS:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Must poses a valid driver’s license.
