SUMMARY:

Work in conjunction with the Manager, Production to provide oversight of crews in the performance of track maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Establish a safety culture foundation based on compliance with GWI safety rules, regulations and environmental responsibilities
• Assist in planning, directing and managing daily activities of maintenance of way crew
• Provide training to employees that includes but is not limited to safety, and equipment operations and maintenance
• Enforce compliance with safety, and operational procedures
• Monitor and direct performance of subordinate employees
• Interface with others to ensure efficient and organized operations of the railroad along with the maintenance of the track
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minium of 3 years of progressive leadership growth in railroad engineering preferred
• Understand and carry out oral and written communication both general and technical
• Experience in Microsoft office including Word, Excel, Etc.
• Field position with extensive travel required

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR CREDENTIALS:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Must poses a valid driver’s license.
