Responsibilities:
Project Manager will provide leadership and mentorship and decisive guidance and direction in regard to the management of technical aspects of engineering related to building structures. Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management, in terms of technical quality, cost and schedule and will lead a diverse team of professionals from design through construction and closeout. Sr. Project Managers will be required to learn, teach, and implement industry, client, and internal company best practices related to project delivery, budget, schedule, quality and operations in the healthcare environment. Project Managers will require experience leading and mentoring a team of professionals and experience as an advisor/liaison with the client (user groups, design team, contractors, and facility engineering representatives). The CM services will be used to support traditional Design-Bid-Build and Design/Build contracts. A summary of the major tasks is below.
- Architectural/Engineering analysis, development, design of and the preparation of complete plans and specifications for new work and improvements.
- Architectural/Engineering provide technical oversight and evaluation concerning all engineering disciplines as they pertain to all project work.
- Independently responsible and accountable for determining the action necessary in the development and completion of design projects, coordination of a project staff which may include architects, engineers, engineering technicians, draftsmen, and clerk/typists and review of the final contract documents.
- Surveys existing job conditions and confers with requesting medical center personnel to determine exact scope of project, phasing, impact on other medical center services and other specific design requirements.
- Determine how project(s) will impact medical center based on results of a risk assessment that could have a severe impact on patient care.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited University.
- 10 years of experience in engineering (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, safety, etc.) and construction management of buildings and structures.
- Must have previous experience working on healthcare projects.
- Familiarity with scheduling, cost estimating, and overall design integration is necessary. Professional experience should also include ability to review and resolve engineering issues associated with construction and specification documents.
- Must possess the skillset and competency to supervise and manage personnel of diverse skillsets
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with VA Medical Center or VA Hospital projects
- PE License in MD, VA, DC, or WV
- CCM, PMP certifications
