Compensation Range: $17-21 per hour

Compensation will be dependent upon geographic region, education, and experience

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Technician to join our team in Sacramento, United States. As a vital member of our mental health care team, you will play a crucial role in supporting patients throughout their treatment journey, from admission to discharge.

  • Ensure patient safety by maintaining constant vigilance and adhering to established protocols
  • Assist in orienting new patients to the treatment program, its requirements, and routines
  • Monitor patients' behavior and well-being, keeping them in line of sight and conducting regular checks
  • Facilitate treatment plans by providing day-to-day support and helping patients engage in positive coping skills
  • Lead and engage patients in therapeutic groups, such as coping skills, relapse prevention, and psychoeducation
  • Document patient behaviors and interactions accurately and thoroughly
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism and empathy towards patients and colleagues
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to patient needs and emergencies

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of one year experience in a mental health setting or working with adolescents
  • Valid Driver's License in good standing
  • Ability to obtain CPI and CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days of employment
  • Strong observational and documentation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and resilience in challenging situations
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient mobility when necessary
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
