Position Summary:
We are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer for our Escondido, CA location. The ideal candidate will be assisting with design calculations, permitting, design drawings. The position will require some project management as well that includes interfacing with the customer, providing schedule updates, submitting pay applications, submitting all required project documentation. Typical projects involve mechanical pump and dispenser system design.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Provide mechanical engineering design & assessments including cryogenic system design specifications, and vendor bid evaluations for our natural gas and hydrogen fueling products.
  • Control and coordination of all mechanical engineering and design activities from project inception to customer acceptance of delivered plant.
  • Key performance indicators include completing all contractual requirements on schedule, within budget.
  • Ability to foster a team approach in design and engineering, demonstrating leadership, planning, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Application of Engineering Design Codes, including but not limited to piping system sizing and design to ASME B31.3 and B31.12
  • High pressure (3000-15000 psig) system design as well as pressure relief value sizing and system design
  • Responsible for component selection.
  • Support with thermodynamic and pipe flow calculations.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • 3-5 years of full-cycle, "hands-on" experience in a construction, manufacturing or engineering related field
  • Cryogenic system design, fabrication, and start-up experience
  • High pressure system design, fabrication, and start-up experience
  • Centrifugal and positive displacement pump system selection and integration
  • Familiarity with P&IDs
  • Familiarity with pump selection and operation requirements
  • Project Management experience
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks or similar software
  • Required Travel: Up to 10%

Salary: $72,028 - $100,858
