Description

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for coordinating through subordinate personnel, activities of all material and shipping functions including, but not limited to, shipping, receiving, material movement, stocking, storage/alternate storage, and inventory accuracy. This position is also responsible for maintaining company agreed upon metrics to track on time shipments and shipping errors and cycle count effectiveness.  Coordinates the supply and movement of shipping and production materials within the manufacturing area in accordance with manufacturing specifications and quality control requirements.  Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and FDA, ISO, and environmental requirements.

 SCHEDULE

1st shift, Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Oversee the day-to-day warehouse activities.
  • Meet or exceed our internal and external customers’ expectations for on-time delivery and method of shipment.
  • Receives, unpacks, inspects, and stores incoming materials and supplies; load and unload trucks.
  • Coordinates processing receiving activities to ensure all products received are correct and match open orders.
  • Coordinates processing shipping activities to ensure production shipments and quality of outgoing products meet required specifications.
  • Reviews open order reports and assures appropriate personnel are advised of any items that are needed for shipping.
  • Plans and coordinates daily and year-end inventories with team members. Inventories include, but not limited to, raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
  • Reports, tracks, and reconciles variances and implements corrective measures to assure continuous improvement for warehouse activities.
  • Determines shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
  • Maintains complete and accurate records.
  • Work closely with and play an integral role in the team building process with other cross-functional groups including, but not limited to, Quality Department and Production.
  • Other responsibilities as required.

 SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • Read, write, and understand English
  • Knowledge of lot control traceability
  • Fluent computer knowledge and skills using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work with software such as UPS, Federal Express, DHL, etc.
  • Ability to understand documentation such as, but limited to, Bill of Materials (BOM), shop orders, routers, and other relevant manufacturing documentation
  • Ability to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with associates
  • Ability to train coworkers
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience in a warehouse and/or shipping environment
  • Forklift and Electric Pallet Jack Certification
  • Knowledge and experience with GMP, ISO, FDA, and quality standards

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift/move and/or push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk 6+ hours per day
  • Use of one or both hands and/or fingers to grasp, move, or assemble objects
